AISJ
AISJ is a non-profit institution, governed by an elected board of Trustees and assisted by the U.S Department of State, and has a diversified educational program from Early Childhood through Grade12.
MISSION STATEMENT

AISJ is a co-educational, multinational, accredited college preparatory school that promotes academic excellence with an international experience based on an American curriculum. We are founded on the principle of inclusion, inviting all members of the school community to share in a partnership that encourages our students to become productive citizens confident in their future success. We provide our students with the inspiration to pursue their dreams and the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve them.

ACCREDITATION
Accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, USA, AISJ is also licensed by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Education to operate as a school for expatriate children.
STUDENT BODY
The AISJ student body of 700 represents 47 different nationalities. The constant interaction of students from such diverse cultural backgrounds has come to represent a vital aspect of life at AISJ. Our Elementary School consists of Early Childhood to Grades 5. The Middle School of Grades 6-8, and the High School of Grades 9-12. AISJ is modern and air conditioned, with fully equiped classrooms, Science and Computer Labs, gymnasium, fitness/weight room, recreational facilities, Art and music areas, cafeteria, as well as extensive library and media centers.
ADMINISTRATION AND FACULTY

The administration of the school is the responsibility of the School Director who reports directly to the Board of Trustees. AISJ has a highly qualified staff of educators. It recruits approximately 71% from the US, 11% from Canada, and the remaining 18% from 9 different nations. The majority, 58% of the Faculty hold a Master Degree or higher. Faculty members continually keep abreast of  current pedagogical trends by participating in the near East/South Asia Council of overseas schools (NESA), conferences, seminars, and continuing education courses

ACADEMIC PROGRAM
The academic year consists of 2 semesters, each ending in a final exam week. The school day consists of four-90-minute classes Saturday to Wednesday. The SY2006-2007is 35 weeks in length, beginning on August 28, 2006 and ending on June 13, 2007.

    DIPLOMA OFFERINGS
    American High School Diploma
    Upon successful completion of 24 credits, AISJ graduates will be awarded an American High School Diploma.
    Honors Diploma
    Upon successful completion of 26 credits, 25 hours of pre-approved community service, minimum GPA of 3.5, excellent behavior and attendance, and administrative recommendation; high achieving AISJ graduates will be awarded the Honors Diploma. These students must attain a minimum of 12 credits at AISJ, or, with administrative approval, have qualified transfer credits earned in the junior/senior years of a school recognized by one of the 7 U.S. Regional Accreditation Boards or the European Council of International Schools.

    PUPIL SERVICES
    Pupils’ services include ESL and Resource for Grades 6-10, Guidance Counseling and Health Services for Grades 6-12. We also have a School Psychologist, on call, for educational assessment and counseling services. During Grades 9 thru 12, the School’s Counseling Department works with students to facilitate the university decision-making process and career choices. 
    EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
    AISJ offers girls and boys, Junior Varsity, and Varsity Volleyball; Soccer, Basketball, Track and Field, and Softball. We also offer Table Tennis, Knowledge Bowl/Academic Games, Badminton, Junior Varsity Fine Arts, Intra-Kingdom Music Festival, International Honor Orchestra, Band Fest, Cricket, Wrestling, Bowling, Computer Club, Drama Club, Yearbook Club, Tahfez Al-Quran and Arabic, Peer Tutoring, National Honor and National Junior Societies, Model UN, Chess, and Student Council.
