It is the policy of the Board to accommodate students of many nationalities. AISJ reserves the right to evaluate each applicant to determine acceptance and appropriate placement. Previous school records will be reviewed and considered in determining placement. |

1. |
Students will be administered standardized tests for admission and/or placement. The school administration will be responsible for identifying the tests to be administered.
-
Students scoring within one year of expected grade level or above on standardized measure of achievement will be considered for admission.
-
With the exception of students applying for admission in grade 10 or higher, students who fail to demonstrate proficiency in areas that assess the language (e.g. reading, verbal comprehension, expression, etc.) will be considered for admission in an ESL program if they demonstrate competencies in the area of mathematics within expected grade level or higher.
|

Children who have shown chronic failure in a previous school setting or who have required extensive disciplinary actions may result in non-admission or some type of stipulated placement. |

AISJ, typically, does not accept students who, because of educational, emotional, cognitive, or physical disabilities require special education classes or services to fully benefit from the regular classroom setting. |
| |

The parents are willing to accept the conditional nature of the placement. |
| 3.2 |
Parents are expected to provide the school with all necessary documents to ensure appropriate admission and placement decisions. Parents who intentionally withhold such documents may have their child’s admission or placement re-evaluated. |
4. |
Students who are granted admission to AISJ will be placed on a one month probationary period for evaluation of admission and placement decision. |
