A Message from the Principal :

Dear MS Parents and Students,
ES Principle
I would personally like to welcome you to the 2007-2008 school year here at the AISJ Middle School. I welcome back our current seventh and eighth grade families and also extend a special welcome to the newest members to the middle school, our sixth grade families. I hope that you have had a pleasant summer and that you are enjoying the remaining days of the summer vacation. 6th grade orientation is now August 25th along with the other new student orientation. Regular classes begin for students on Sunday, August 26, 2007.

As parents, stay involved with your son/daughter's education throughout the school year. Communication is an essential component of a truly successful school/parent partnership. I encourage you to establish positive communication with your child's teachers. At AISJ, we value your input and we will assist you in any way that we can. Also, please check our school's web site regularly. Our school calendar will be posted there as well as important announcements. Please feel free to contact my office (662-0051 ext. 270) at any time should you have any questions or concerns. We appreciate your feedback.

I encourage our sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students to become actively involved at AISJ Middle School. There will be many opportunities for you both academically and socially. Be prepared for class, participate and work hard. I also ask that you treat others as you would like to be treated, respecting other students and their personal belongings. Students are responsible for knowing the contents of the Parent Student Handbook, which is available as a download on this website. I am sure that we can count on all of you to follow these guidelines and make our school one where an excellent education can be gained in an atmosphere of self discipline and respect for others.

Mr. Gil Briones is the AISJ Secondary Assistant Principal (ext. 282). Both he and I look forward to working with you during the school year. The AISJ Middle school has a dedicated staff that is committed to providing you with an outstanding middle school experience. We look forward to an exciting school year together!

Respectfully,

Mr. Andrew Westerman
AISJ Secondary Principal
