The school nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing services to the American International School of Jeddah community, in an ethical and compassionate manner.  Caring is at the heart of school nursing practice.  The nurse is responsible for promotion of preventative health maintenance, health assessment and referral services for the students.  The goal of the school nurse is to identify and, whenever possible, minimize health conditions that may prevent students from learning to their full potential.  This is accomplished through the effective use of interpersonal and nursing skills that foster mutual respect and cooperation.  Through education, planning and prevention in the health office, students will become independent and knowledgeable in the areas of personal and community health.
